For your first question, Sarah, I would assume so since Chrome is supposed
to update itself "quietly."
As to your second question--a good one--the answer is no. The problem
machine has Vista, the laptop has Win7, the notebook has a starter Win7, my
computer at work has Win7, and the one I am using at work now as I respond
here is XP Professional. However, until this recent spate of problems, I
had no previous Chrome problems with the Vista machine.
