After several attempts, I succeeded in removing a couple of addresses
from My Contacts but leaving them in a group. It seems My Contacts is
just another group, but with the difference that a when a new contact
is created it gets assigned to My Contacts by default. After you put
it in the group(s) you want, it can be easily removed from My Contacts
by selecting it in the My Contacts list, clicking on the weird button
with 3 heads, unchecking My Contacts and clicking Apply.
