the word "commercial" - "advert" for all you Englishmen out there. ;-)
Myself, I consider his Microsoft work as a "commission", like the "White
Cube" installation for instance - and I do love the quote Jacob reminded
us of.
As far as Eno´s "brand identity" (sorry for using the term) is concerned,
I still find he is widely unknown, even among folks who are quite into
music and culture in general. For instance, I regularly use a quote of his
in a course I teach and when I ask who knows who Brian Eno is, it´s rare
that anyone holds up their hand.
