Thanks to all of you who have helped out with DVRPC's first regional bicycle
travel survey. To date, more than 800 questionnaires have been returned.
We've also interviewed 377 bicyclists on the street. And we distributed
2,605 questionnaires to passing bicyclists; our response rate (completed
questionnaires mailed back to us) was a phenomenal 29 percent. This past
week, we've distributed additional questionnaires by hanging them on parked
bicycles; and via leaders of organized club rides.
To get rid of the remaining questionnaires, I again ask for your help. If
you normally encounter adult bicyclists (age 16 and older) in the Delaware
Valley (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties in
Pennsylvania, and Mercer, Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties in New
Jersey) during the course of your week, or you regularly pass by a full bike
rack, or if you know of regular bicycle commuters in your workplace, please
consider taking and distributing a handful of questionnaires. Just let me
know how many questionnaires you think you can distribute in the course of
your normal activities during one week, and your mailing address, and I'll
send them right out. I can also provide bags, if needed, for hanging on
handlebars of parked bikes.
