Sir Sean Connery is to be questioned on his life, work and political views
during a lengthy visit to Scotland this summer.

The former James Bond star will being among guest speakers taking part in a
Festival of Politics at Holyrood from August 23-26.

He will also be lending his "full support" to the summer's 60th anniversary
celebrations of the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF), for which
he is the patron. Sir Sean will, among other events, host a "60th edition"
party to celebrate the movie festival's landmark on August 19.

During his visit to Holyrood he will take part in an In Conversation
interview with George Reid, the presiding officer.

Mr Reid said: "Sir Sean's involvement in the festival is a mark, not only of
the increasing profile of this event, but of the parliament taking its place
on the world stage." This year's festival has been expanded by one day to
include Saturday family events.
