I have a client who is essentially entering a document of 50+ pages into a text area field (tiny MCE). The data is being saved to a data base via CFquery Update.  The data base is MS SQL server and the field length is set to VARCHAR(MAX).  Data is being truncated on update to data base (same place every time).

I have checked and the data is not being lost by the text area. If I display the post field after the Update Query, all the data is there. It's definitely being truncated either by CFQuery or by the data base.

I have (temporarily) removed cfqueryparam, so that is not the culprit.

Any ideas what is causing the truncation?
