I would just like to chime in at this time to say that we had an Apple
SE in here looking at a different problem and I asked him about these
messages. He said they were not important, but that it had to do with
the fact that we use vlans and the two interfaces of the XServe are
plugged into the same switch, with different vlans. I don't have
multiple XServes to confirm this, however.
The 169.254.x.x number is, as someone else already mentioned, just a
self-assigned non-working IP address when a machine requests DHCP but it
can't find a DHCP server.
