I've got a series of 10.3.9 users (about 50) that are using Home
Directories from Xserve (running 10.4.3). We had the problem develop
while we were still running on 10.3.x on the Xserve. The problem
varies from user to user and not all of them have it. We've got one
user who, if he mounts another share onto his system (which he needs
to frequently) he is unable to click and drag to duplicate things in
his Adobe apps, along with various other problems. They are most
obvious in Photoshop and Illustrator on this one system.
There was a post recently that mentioned something about removing the
cache files in the com.apple.ATS directory and that got me to
thinking that might be the best place to look.
I guess what it boils down to is, is the cache directories in the /
Library/Caches the only place that stores user preference like that?
Or are there other places. What is and what isn't safe to delete
from a users profile to get them working again?
Thanks for any advice you have in this area.
Brian
