That's true, but it's one option to specify the viewing angle. For us
"colorfanatics" there are better ways to describe the viewing angle,
but for an average user like someone using a word processor the
current specs may be meaningful?

The german MacUp magazine started to measure the Delta E in 10° and
20° (from perpendicular) directions. Those Delta E values have a good
correlation to the perceived color shift.

Yes, unfortunately :-(  But at least we have the internet and can read
the opinions from people who had the chance to do a comparison.
