Sorry, I mentioned DebWrt is running on Sarge, but it is actually on
Etch. And user reported successful dist-upgrades. Just booting from a
debootstrapped Debian on an embedded device won't always just work. In
my experience it never did :-) You need some files in /dev/ and do some
initial configuration (pam.d, inittab, ...). Even if you somehow
performed second-stage install I doubt it will get you console etc
without additional config.
