I think even a somewhat incorrect documentation would be a good thing
    because it would hopefully give us bug-reports that'll help us improve both
    the code and the doc.

I agree completely.  Meanwhile, I think Luc's latest fixes make it
work well enough to be useful.  So let's document it, and people
can start using it.
