I'm pretty sure this will be a question that has an answer in a faq or
something, but a quick google and i couldn't find it, so i'll ask:

Wny is it that in thunderbird:
(1) IF I install enigmail, it seems to "Work OK" in terms of verifying
signatures at first, but
(2) IF i then go to the enigmail menu and go thru the setup wizard and
specifying my own key, I lose the ability to read HTML e-mail -
everything converts to plain-text?  Even uninstalling enigmail doesn't
fix this.  I've figured out enough of thunderbird by now that if i want
to test it first i backup my .thunderbird directory, then install and
configure enigmail, then try it to find html e-mail is gone, then
uninstall it and finally exit thunderbird and restore my .thunderbird
directory from backup.
