"Failed: Internal error: node for perl588-core already exists"

I'm getting this a the sole output of an update-all command, both in
command line mode and in Fink Commander.

This is happening on an early 2006 iMac running Snow leopard. (This is a
32-bit only machine.) I have already tried selfupdate and scanpackages.

Any ideas what to try next?
