I have been trying to get gdb to display the values of variables
stored in standard named COMMON blocks (using the g77 compiler). gdb
is functioning normally and predictably (at least with local
variables), but so far no luck displaying COMMON variables.
I found a couple of claims of success online that indicated COMMON
variables could indeed be inspected from within gdb.
Can anyone with experience in this area indicate if what I am trying
is possible, and if so, how to do it? Or where to look for more help?
Details:
==================
OS X 10.3.9
$ gdb -v
GNU gdb 5.3-20030128 (Apple version gdb-282) (Fri Jun 13 03:33:07 GMT 2003)
$ g77 -v
gcc version 3.4 20031015 (experimental)

Thanks for any guidance,
Richard Hartman
