That's a very good point. What I wrote was just the kind of things I was
thinking about for a hackable distribution but I got carried away and
failed to put it properly in the context of a GNU distribution! In that
case, one would, of course, absolutely focus on GNU software first. Of
course I'm quite happy with Gnome (writing this in Evolution now), and a
GNU source distribution running Gnome as its desktop would be an
enjoyable thing.
Anyway, I guess there are bigger problems to solve at the moment such as
packaging and distribution than details like which particular software
packages to focus on...I shouldn't have brought that up.
