Location *Bangalore*

Vacancy for *a Community Collectives Support Officer*

*Full time **experienced person*

*Sangama* is a human rights organisation working mainly with sexual
minorities, sexworkers, PLHIV. Our work includes human rights advocacy,
support for community-based organisations and building solidarity links
with other movements/groups

We are looking for a senior person for our *Salaam Initiative project - *which
is primarily involved in action research, capacity building of collectives,
and building leadership with working-class sexual minorities and
sexworkers.

.*Job Profile*

The person will be mainly responsible for capacity and leadership building
of activist-fellows and collectives mainly in South India. The person would
work with collectives and movements of sexual minorities and sex workers
primarily.  The role would involve collaboratively identifying and
supporting a broad range of leaders, linking them to resources as well as
training, supporting and facilitating  the growth of small groups and
organisations (primarily of sexual minorities and sex workers).

The person will also be responsible to facilitate, contribute and document
the work done by the fellows who are part of a fellowship programme. Other
responsibilities will include supporting the development of fund-raising
strategies including proposal writing, maintaining relationship with
funders and helping  in report writing.

*Who we are looking for*

- At least 10 years relevant experience at a middle/senior position in
human rights/ social justice/ community collectivization work

- Comfort in working with working class sexual minorities/ sexworkers/
people living with HIV

- Committed to social justice in the context of class, caste, gender,
sexuality, religion etc.

- Team player and ability to build alliances with various social movements
and other larger social change processes

- Willingness to travel

*Skills*

- Ability to combine project management and advocacy

- Strong theoretical grounding and good methodological, analytical and
writing skills (in English) required

- Ability to coordinate and network with various stakeholders

- Fluency in at least one South Indian language

- Independently plan and coordinate training programmes
