As you probably know, I strongly recommend against having the root file system on an LV, so just a reminder.

It's not specifically known to me, but that doesn't mean much.  If you take the initrd from the AutoYaST installed system, and run this command against it, what shows up?
lsinitrd initrd | grep etc/udev/

On my test system, I see this:
# lsinitrd initrd | grep etc/udev/
33656 blocks
etc/udev/rules.d
etc/udev/rules.d/77-network.rules
etc/udev/rules.d/59-dasd.rules
etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
etc/udev/rules.d/51-dasd-0.0.0150.rules
