I dont mean that all AIDS Control programmes are genetic engineering
programmes. What I meant was a sarcasm, that even the sexuality
specialists, despise homosexuality, and talks of it as a deviancve
from heterosexuality. Alternate sexual education should have sexuality
and gender as its main focus, unlike the NACO material, which
concentrates on sexual activities. We need to liberate sexuality from
the hitherto centres; vagina, penis, anus. Sexuality is something more
than sexual acts, and there are multiple ways to produce and enjoy our
own sexuality. Homosexual enlightenment is a need, at the same time it
should not fall in to the trap of creating another normative model and
therefore marginalising all other identities and practises.

The NACO modules were good to an extent that first time it talked of
other sexual identities and practises. Alternate sexual education will
address the whole problems which are there with alternate education
itself. Getting things in to the curriculam also gives some
legitimacy/ recognition, in a sense it is also a process in gaining
citizenship for marginalised sexualities.
