Anthony said to Marsha:

You seem to be talking more about 180 degrees enlightenment in the above paragraph.

Andre said to Marsha:
Now, who responded to this, when suggested in identical terms by dmb, 'get a life!'? (but responded to Anthony with, 'Very interesting.  Maybe the "natural tendency" moves it more towards the 360 degree'.  ...You have apparently no idea what Anthony and dmb are pointing to...as I suggested before...it's your blind spot. A big one.

dmb says:
A similar thing happened when Marsha tried to use Alan Wallace's work to dispute the things I'd been saying about William James. Alan Wallace's work is basically a loving tribute to William James. Wallace puts James on a par with Galileo and Darwin; says that he revolutionized the study consciousness in the same way they revolutionized astronomy and biology respectively.
In both cases, Marsha will reject whatever I say regardless of it's value or validity. As the old joke goes, if I came out in favor of  air, Marsha would declare oxygen a poison and quit breathing. It's pure ego and intellectual quality has nothing do with it.

This is not just philosophically incorrect and intellectually bogus, it's also sleazy, i.e. morally wrong.

From the excerpts posted by Anthony (from a new essay by John McConnell that is due to appear on robertpirsig.org during this month):

..."The reintegration of True with Good is mediated through the cultivation of the experience of Quality.  ...Evolution never goes backward.  We cannot seek to return to "the good old days" before the intellect emerged. We must see where the advancing front of life and consciousness are going and willfully align our hearts and minds with it."
