"The standard Pirsigian line should go something like this: the MoQ _is_
a menu with no food. However, it is a better menu than the others,
particularly because it points you to where the food is."
This thread and the subject question stem from a discussion about faith, hope
and love and the historical mystics' take on metaphysics.
Why would people turn to the Metaphysics of Quality when they could have
Eliot, Frost, Lao Tzu, Shakespeare, Shelley, Tennyson and Whitman? And
where did these great writers get their inspiration in the first place? Would
they have turned to the Metaphysics of Quality if it had been available to them?
