I still greatly prefer the MPW Shell environment over XCode, but  
version 2.2 of XCode does ship a good version of gcc - version  
4.0.1.  This version seems to produce correct code, unlike the  
version of gcc that came with XCode 2.1, so if you are using XCode  
2.1, I highly recommend moving up to XCode 2.2 just for the  
compiler.  (XCode 2.2 is rather large at 834 MB.)

Apple: release the MPW Shell for Intel!
