Dear Ludovic and all,
pcsc-lite 1.8.2-1 is now part of Debian Testing, which means that
pcsc-lite may be submitted to Debian Squeeze backports [1].
This will ease the life of a lot of Debian Squeeze.
We started working on a backport for Squeeze including other software
like OpenSC [2]. Most of the work is building a complete compilation
farm for pcsc-lite, libccid and OpenSC.
A recent change in pcsc-lite packaging requires a recent version of
dpkg-dev >= 1.16.1 . dpkg-dev 1.16.1 is not included in Squeeze but is
in Squeeze backports.
Therefore could you add dpkg-dev (>= 1.16.1~) to the build-dep
dependency in the source packge, control file:
Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 7.0.50~), flex, autotools-dev, libudev-dev
[linux-any], libusb2-dev [kfreebsd-any], pkg-config, dpkg-dev, dpkg-dev
(>= 1.16.1~)
According to packagers [3], it is better to fix the build-dep dependency
upstream rather than submit a package with only a small change.
If you agree with this Build-depends change, please ping me and we will
submit pcsc-lite to Debian backports and to you for review. Then we
propose to submit and maintain the backports packages.
Kind regards,
Jean-Michel
