IPV6 related query

To enable the ipv6 support for the agent I included below line in snmpd.conf
agentaddress udp:161,tcp:161,udp6:161,tcp6:161

When I start the agent as snmpd -f -L I get below message
getaddrinfo:  Name or service not known

Further when I issue the snmpget command with ipv6 address as specified in
the response to FAQ_Application 28
snmpget -v 3 -n '' -l authPriv -u myuser -A my_password 'udp6:[::1]:161' -l
authNoPriv sysUpTime.0
getaddrinfo:  Name or service not known
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (91727) 0:15:17.27
I get the Timeticks back but with the message "getaddrinfo:  Name or service
not known"

When I execute the command with the actual ipv6 address as below
snmpget -v 3 -n '' -l authPriv -u myuser -A my_password
'fe00::211:25ff:fea4:579a' -l authNoPriv sysUpTime.0
snmpget: Unknown host (fe80::211:25ff:fea4:579a) (No such file or directory)
Why its not working when specified ipv6 address of the localhost?
