Well anything out of maxim institute has to be treated with extreme
suspicion but even Bill English is struggling to match government spending
to inflation driving sectors. Delivering a massive tax cut is not going reduce
consumer spending either.

That said, I agree with other poster that inflation figures have to compared against GDP.

And no, I am not pinko, left-voting member of labour party but I am not a
fan of extreme right wing liberatian views either.
