The "official" way to share and perform other version control functions
for native code is to use WDSc.
Included with WDSc is the iSeries Project perspective (IPP). The IPP
allows you to import source code from the System i to a project on your
PC. A project is simply a file structure used to organize a set of code.
The project will contain folders that correspond to your source physical
files like QRPGLESRC, ect. You can create as many projects as you wish.
The IPP is a great tool that allows you to gain access to and make changes
to code when off line. The editor is far superior to PDM and is a great
deal more user friendly. When on-line you can "push" changes to, and
compile on the System i.
Subclipse is a free open source plug-in for WDSc and other Eclipse base
tools. Subclipse allows you "share" your iSeries project with the SVN
repository. This is done easily with a right click to access the Team API
which allows you to share the project with SVN. Once under version control
Subclipse can be used by other users to create working copies on their
PCs and where they can work any time any where.
WDSc is included with your operating system or you can get it from IBM.
Download Subclipse here:
http://subclipse.tigris.org/
Once installed you can use the following links to subscribe/unsubscribe to
it's mailing list where you will find assistance with using and trouble
shooting from fellow users and developers. The support here is second to
none.

Thank you.

RE: Re: Looking for a green screen client
Thanks for your reply,
However,
What I need is the option to work in native 5250 libraries and from
there to have the option to commit to a SVN repository on a Linux
machine.
I need some kind of an SVN plug-in to the i5 ?
It should be something like
http://march-hare.com/cvspro/prods.asp?pdf=9, but for SVN and hopefully
cheaper.
Please advice,
Thank you,
Rotem.

Hi,
Take a look at
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/i/software/access/linux/ or
Google at "TN5250 Linux" and you'll find various other 5250 clients.
If I misunderstood your question, please explain a bit more in detail
what your actual problem is.
Kind regards,
Paul
