[Oscar-devel] Problem trying to install oscar-6.0.5r8859-1 on CentOS 5.4
Hi, I've just purchased a big Cluster with a head that hosts a 5TB raid5 disk array. Because of this big array, I must find a distro that supports GPT partition table (grub2 and more) and that is supported by OSCAR. Because of the GPT requirement I must use very latest distro, and thus very latest version of OSCAR. Though I did not resolv the GPT issue, I decided to temporarily break the raid volume and use one 1TB disk to install CentOS 5.4 which is the only CentOS able to support my infiniband hardware. So I Installed CentOS 5.4 and then I started to install oscar-6.0.5r8859-1 (which adds support for CentOS 5.4 as stated in the ChageLog) Unfortunately, I have troubles (normal, it's unstable ;-)). Reading the list archive, I discovered that I fell into a problem similar to post "failure in step 4", but I was unable to find an answer. So here is my config, what I did and the errors: Config: CentOS 5.4 x86_64 I have CentOS-x86_64-OSCAR-unstable.repo in /etc/yum.repos.d I followed steps on page http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/trac/oscar/wiki/repoTesting After installing oscar-6.0.5r8859-1 I did the following: - updated /etc/oscar/oscar.conf: OSCAR_NETWORK_INTERFACE = eth1 - fixed /etc/oscar/supported_distros.txt (attached) => Added 2 lines: [6.0.5] centos-5-x86_64 http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5.4/os/x86_64/ http://bison.csm.ornl.gov/repos/unstable/rhel-5-x86_64 centos-5-i386 http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5.4/os/i386/ http://bison.csm.ornl.gov/repos/unstable/rhel-5-i386 => replaced all occurences of 5.3 with 5.4 in other entries just in case. Then I continued with: oscar-config --setup-distro centos-5-x86_64 => No errors Then I ran oscar-config --bootstrap But I got errors: - db_type: no such variable at /etc/oscar/oscar.conf line 7 I've attached the log and oscar.conf files (Line 7 is: DB_TYPE = mysql) Then I did a system-sanity with the following result: [root@mycluster:/etc/oscar]# system-sanity Checking your system... IMHO, all my troubles are related to error "db_type: no such variable at /etc/oscar/oscar.conf line 7", but don't know perl language and I must admit that I'm now a little bit stalled.
