To Luc,
Oh, Have you ever tried to set the slot? And copy a file from pc?
But I don't know where to put the file in. I try to search the file in "/PALM" or "/PALM/Launcher", but fail.
Have you ever tried?

I can't reply to this one

The least you would have to do is to add a stream header (16 bytes?) to turn your PDF file into a stream header. But then the app you have on the Palm to open that PDF file would probably fail because it does not expect this header.

By "them" you mean the company that writes the PDF reader? Forget about that and just install your plain PDF file on the SD card. But like I wrote you earlier, you don't even need a HotSync to copy a file to a SD card. Just a card slot and a PC will do...
