The way a movie is compressed is important here. Some compressions only like
to be played in one direction. But the one call u are looking for is
setRate(float rate) on the Movies MovieControler. setRate(1f); will play
your movie at a normal rate, and a rate of 2f will have it playing back
twice as fast, and -1f will have it play backwards at a normal rate
(depending on compression).

Subject: controlling playback rate

I'm sure there's a really simple answer to this, but how can I speed up and
slow down my Movie.  I need this not just in a playback sense, but I'd like
to transcode the video to anything and have my playback rate saved.  I've
tried setRate(), setTimeScale() etc but haven't been able to get it to work.

Thanks,

Alex
