Virtual PC and Unicorn software (Akta FPLC)

Hi folks,

new subscriber to this list and I hope you can help me.  I am in a
biosci lab, purifying proteins with an old Pharmacia FPLC.  The machine
has been made obsolete and we will be buying a new one in the next 6
months.  The new FPLC is an Akta FPLC and has been updated by requiring
a PC to drive it.  The PC runs software called Unicorn, which is
probably proprietary (Phamacia was bought by Amersham which was bought
by GE and the new company is GE Healthcare).  The FPLC connects to the
PC with an RJ45 type plug to a network card(?).  GE says that they
don't know anything about virtual PC or Macs.  I don't mind doing some
investigation, and thought I'd start here.

Does anyone know about running an FPLC/Unicorn software with a Mac
running Virtual PC?

thanks,
