SIFT on OSX?
by Grant Jacobs

I'm trying to compile/port SIFT (Sorting Intolerant From Tolerant;
for analysing substitutions in proteins against multiple sequence
alignments). Does anyone already have a working version of SIFT for
OSX (10.4.3)?

I have contacted the authors; they are not set up for OSX and can
only provide limited assistance as a result. The binaries I got from
them crash with a seg fault and a kernel broadcast (attempt to access
bad address in a low-level library by the looks of it). Before I
spend more time on this, it would be useful to know if anyone here
succeeded in getting SIFT to compile on OSX and are able to make a
copy available to me.

Regards,

Grant
