From my Shelby Performance "High Performance Parts and Accessories"
catalog dated 1/90, I find a 318 Performance Kit which included the "engine
control computer recalibrated for premium fuel only".  I believe it was only
intended to be used with the larger TBI unit (from a 360) and "low
restriction muffler", all of which came with the computer.  Catalog Part
#7108.

You can find all the fan control thermostats and stuff you need to
bypass the D150 computer in a Jeg's or (the other speed parts mail-order
company which I can't recommend) Summit Racing catalog.  Be Cool, Flexalite,
Jegs, Painless Wiring... they all have thermostat kits.  The Flex-a-lite kit
that adjusts fan speed from 60% to 100% might be nice on a Shelby Dakota,
because full-bore dual fans sounds like an F-105 taxiing out.  Jegs catalog
number 400-31165.  You might need 2 of them, since you have two fans, but,
what the heck, they're only $82... each.  Better check with Flex-a-lite
first, to see if they will work with your fans.

    Larry
