I agree, but in order to attract the most people, the event should take
place during peak hours in a well-traveled, central location such as the
West Mall.
Below is a proposed list of promotion materials to pass out at the event
-- it includes procurement locations, artwork, and cost:
Bumper stickers (500 pieces, three colors):
Vendor:
http://bandwear.com/printing/stickers/bumperstickers.php
Artwork:
http://sigfree.utacm.org/bumper-sticker.eps
Cost: (0.61 + .203) * 500 + $30 (color) + $20 (shipping) = $456.50
1,000 Linux CDs in 5x5 colored sleeves:
Vendor:
http://www.crystalclearcds.com/cds/pricing.php
Artwork:
http://sigfree.utacm.org/cover-front.eps
http://sigfree.utacm.org/cover-back.eps
Cost: $1,000 + $20 (shipping) = $1,020
500 Linux mousepads:
Vendor:
http://e-mousepads.com/sft99_economy_mouse_pads.htm
Artwork (will be printed in black and white):
http://sigfree.utacm.org/mousepad.eps
Cost: 500 * 0.99 + $40 (setup fee) + $20 (shipping) = $555
I haven’t made a T-shirt design because I don’t know the dimensions --
we’ll need to get this info from the vendor. Does anyone know a vendor
that prints colored designs on white T-shirts? Who does ACM buy T-shirts
from?
Estimated Cost: $400
Food to attract crowd. Preferably pre-packaged and appropriate for the
season (ie. icecream on a hot day).
Estimated Cost: $200
What do you all think?
Thanks,
Vlad
