The MP3 streaming ability of DSS is an old Icecast1 implementation,
and very limited.

You would be much better using the new Icecast2 server for HTTP/ICY
MP3 streaming.  Also, the Icecast2 server now supports different
content types so streaming using the more efficient aacPlus is
possible, and playable using Winamp or VLC.
