No.
What I'm saying is that if you include the -info option on the command
line you will get a listing of the location of the cache directory. The
log info you supplied states that the cache is in the directory
repository/ relative to you current working directory. If you changed
you working directory the log message would reflect this.

A merlin.properties file in the current directory should work just fine.
