Hi all.
Just a quick note. I'm still in the process of trying to revise our group. Let me remind everyone what is happening. (I've received some mails, so I know there is confusion).
We now have three email lists. One is called WittrsAMR. Another should be thought of as Wittrs-Commons. A third is Wittrs-Lords. This list right here is now "Wittrs-Commons." Hence you will note the [C] in the subject line. Mails from Lords will have an [L] in the subject line. The Commons List (this one) is the main list. It has the highest subscription. It is moderated. It will soon take on a very different kind of discussion. I'll have more to say about that very soon.
As to the regular mail traffic that used to come through here -- some as high as 1,000 a month -- I've sent that over to Wittrs-AMR, which is an unmoderated list. I imagine that list will be talking about "minds" for the next century. But that's ok; that's what it is for. I'm only going to allow a fraction of the AMR discussion to come over here to the main list. As to what kind of discussion I'll allow over here, I'll explain that shortly.
Sorry for the intrusions of these mails. There will be a few more like this as I get the new house in order.
One more thing. (This will be a bit confusing). Because of the way I have configured the group(s), all mail traffic has to go through AMR before it goes anywhere else. That's how I can pick and choose which of that bunch to forward into here. Because of this, I've made the subject line tag for AMR say only [Wittrs] (not [Wittrs-AMR]). I did this because many of the web archives and email programs are duplicating [wittrs] in the re: section of mails once those mails go elsewhere. So you have "[wittrs] [wittrsamr]" for example. So from now on, the subject headers will look like this:
WittrsAMR --> [Wittrs]
Wittrs Commons (us) --> [C]
Wittrs Lords (phil profs) --> [L]
Please bear with these changes as I work to reshape the group.
Thanks and regards.
