OK suspend is definately not the correct way to do it. I found an e-mail on
the web from Alasdair Kergon saying that it's a problem with the LVM2 userspace
tools. But this was from Oct 2004 and apparently has not been fixed yet.

Altogether it doesn't seem to be an XFS problem (at least, as far as I can see).
