I just received my Kindle 2 from Amazon. I notice there are only two Brin book available for the Kindle "Foundation's Triumph" and "Kiln People." Any change of getting more made available for the Kindle? I'd love to the have the Uplift books on my Kindle repeat search within brin-l@mccmedia.com…

Has anyone tried Kindle for PC which can be downloaded free from AMAZON.COM? I got a notice from them about Kindle for the iPhone and iPod Touch but I heard that it doesn't work... to be spoken. Has anyone used Amazon's Kindle ebook reader with FreeBSD? Kindle has a usb interface for up/downloading documents to/from a computer. Any idea why none of Startide Rising or the many sequels are available in Amazon Kindle format? I've been curious for some time why so few SF books are available for Kindle. I was checking again for the Uplift books on Amazon Kindle and things have improved since the last time I looked but the status is odd. Uplift War is available on Kindle and Heaven's Reach... are nowhere to be found on Kindle. Why release Heaven's Reach but not the other two in the trilogy repeat search within brin-l@mccmedia.com…

I do own a Kindle and I have connected it to my Fedora 7 machine (yeah I know Fedora 7 is way out of date I hope to finally upgrade later this year.) The Kindle just appears to be another hard... hard drive. I can't remember if my Kindle can read a PDF file directly or if the pdf has repeat search within fedora-list@redhat.com…

The Kindle2 is preorderable as of now. It looks like just a slimmer version of the original Kindle... actually handles PDF better than the first Kindle.
